Faculty of Business

It is my great pleasure in writing a few words for the existing and would be students of the Faculty of Business of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). It is one of the best faculties with which BUBT started its journey in the year 2003. BUBT was established to provide quality education to students through innovative teaching and learning process at an affordable cost for transforming its graduates into competent human resources. We are committed to maintain an excellent academic environment; encourage students to inculcate ethical, cultural and social values in their thoughts, actions and practices; build up a dynamic center of excellence in higher education and research for the creation of an ideal society; and develop students’ understanding of advances in knowledge and complexities of modern world for solution of problems of contemporary society.

With the changed mindset of students to create a transparent, democratic, accountable, corruption free, discrimination free, humanitarian, democratic and secular Bangladesh, we have adjusted our course curricula accordingly. We have completely changed the old and outdated curricula with the new Outcome Based Education (OBE) as prescribed by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) and approved by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC).

The 4-year BBA program now comprises of two semesters per year with a total of 132 credits including viva-voce and an internship of 12-week attachment. The MBA program comprises of four semesters with a total credit of 66. Graduates can get a maximum exemption of 8 foundation courses if they fulfill the requirements for getting exemptions. For them, the MBA degree requirement will be a minimum of 42 credits.

Apart from the state of art facilities provided for students of BUBT, Faculty of Business  boasts having a few extra advantages like: the textbooks and teaching materials followed are of USA/Canada/UK/Australia origin; a new major in BBA i.e., ICT has been introduced for the students to make them more acceptable in the job market; the BBA and MBA program has introduced laboratory courses for computer related subjects; a new computer Lab has been set up recently in addition to the existing computer lab for students; the Faculty has academic and internship collaborations with renowned universities and industries; the Faculty has cricket and football teams which participates in inter and intra university competitions; the Faculty has a separate Career Guidance and International Collaboration Office to help student placements in jobs and internships; one psychologist has been employed on a full-time basis; the Faculty has separate canteen facility, prayer room and a big screen television in the lobby for viewing international football and cricket matches; female students can get hostel accommodation; a fully equipped medical center for students with full-time doctors and nurses. Apart from big playgrounds, international conference centers, BUBT provides all sorts of common facilities for its students including air conditioners and multimedia facilities with internet connections in all rooms like an ideal international university. Separate prayer rooms for male and female students are also available. Hefty sums of student tuition waivers, scholarships and donations are made by BUBT in every semester.
