A seminar on “Iot and 4.0 Industrial Revolution” was organized in Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) in its International Conference Hall, Rupnagar, Mirpur-2 in the capital on Saturday, April 20, 2019. Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of the university arranged this seminar.
Mr. A F M Sarwar Kamal, Former Chairman of BUBT Trust graced the program as the Chief Guest while Professor Md. Abu Saleh, Vice Chancellor, BUBT presided over the seminar. Mr. Taif Bin Yousuf, Executive Director, IT & OGV, Meghna Group of Industries (MGI) spoke as the Keynote Speaker. He explained how MGI is being benefitted by the IoT.
Mr. S. Asadul Hashem, General Manager, IT, MGI conducted the technical session presenting slides and elaborated the IoT. He defined the IoT as the Tsunami as it is coming in this country to hit the businesses. He said that Jobs in IoT can be more lucrative in the next few years. If we start to prepare ourselves for this technology, we can be the leader in this sector in the world. According to Mr. Hashem, the IoT stands for Internet of Things. This is a giant network to connect physical devices for analyzing data and having proactive decisions. It may change the ideas in business, health and agriculture in the world. It is the combination of sensor, internet, cloud computer and smart analytical solution.
Professor Dr. M. Ameer Ali, Chairman, Department of CSE, BUBT delivered the welcome speech. Ms. Tahmina Mustafa, Director, MGI was present in the seminar. Distinguished Guests, Members of BUBT Trust, Treasurer, Director of IQAC-BUBT, Deans of different faculties, Registrar, Controller of Exams., Joint Registrar, Chairmen of different departments, Proctor, officials, teachers and students attended the seminar.
