BUBT and Rupnagar Thana jointly hold discussion on militancy

Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) and Rupnagar Police Station of Dhaka Metropolitan Police jointly organized a discussion on `Jongibad o Sontras Protirodh Sochetonotamulok Sobha’ at the Hall Room of the university permanent campus, Rupnagar in the capital on Saturday (May 04, 2019).

Mr. Shahan Shah Mahmud, Additional Police Commissioner, Mirpur Division, Dhaka Metropolitan Police discussed the topic. He said that militancy problem in Islamic countries has been created to divide Muslims. This is time for rethinking about it. Mr. Mahmud also discussed drug and cybercrime issues. He said that drug is a curse for our societies. We should avoid drugs. Police try to prevent this problem but we cannot complete drug case’s investigation within 15 days. This is the limitation related to Law. He also urges students to be aware of sharing personal photos with friends in social networking sites ensuring their safety and not to be victims of blackmailing. Because, todays friend can turn tomorrow’s enemy.

Hafiz-e Quran Mr. Delwar Hossain explained the term Jihad in the context of Islam. He said that Islam does not permit so called Jihad. It is a war to be declared by the Islamic state, not by any organization. Otherwise it would become terrorism. If we know Islam well nobody can misguide us.

Prof. Mian Lutfar Rahman, Advisor, Students’ Affairs, BUBT presided over the program. He said that if we love ourselves, we can avoid so called Jihad. Mr. Sheikh Md. Shah Alam, Officer (In-Charge), Rupnagar Thana spoke on the occasion. Mr. Golam Rabbani, Inspector (Investigation), Mr. Mokammel Hoque, Inspector (Operation), Deans of various faculties, BUBT, Registrar, Controller of Exams., Chairmen of different departments, Joint Registrar, Proctor, Officials, Teacher and students attended the program.
