Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) organized a seminar on “Anti-Drug, Sexual Harassment Prevention, Anti-Bullying and Anti-Ragging Activities” on November 3, 2025 (Monday) at the International Conference Hall, BUBT.
The program aimed to raise awareness among students and staff about creating a safe, inclusive, and drug-free academic environment.
The keynote speech was delivered by Mr. Mazharul Islam, Director (Deputy Secretary), Preventive Education, Department of Narcotics Control, Ministry of Home Affairs, Bangladesh, and Ms. Nishath Sultana, Director – Influencing Campaign and Communications, Plan International Bangladesh, who is also a noted author, columnist, and human rights activist.
Among the distinguished guests present at the event were Prof. Dr. Ali Ahmed, Honorable Treasurer of BUBT; Prof. Mian Lutfar Rahman, Honorable Member of the BUBT Trusty Board; respected Deans of different faculties; Wing Commander Md. Momenul Islam (Retd.), Honorable Proctor of BUBT; along with other senior officials, faculty members, and a large number of students.
Both speakers discussed the alarming consequences of drug abuse, sexual harassment, bullying, and ragging within educational institutions and emphasized the importance of preventive education, awareness, and collective action.
The seminar concluded with an interactive discussion session where students and faculty members shared their views and pledged to uphold a respectful and supportive campus culture.
