A workshop on ‘Present Scenario, Future Prospects and Challenges of Spinning Sector in Bangladesh’ was held at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) Permanent Campus, Mirpur, Dhaka on Wednesday, March 07, 2018. The Department of Textile Engineering of BUBT organized the Workshop.
Engr. Mohammad Abdul Latif, General Manager, Sufia Cotton Mills Ltd. (Noman Group) presented the Key Note Paper in the Workshop. Prof. Mian Lutfar Rahman, Proctor, BUBT and Prof. Syed Anwarul Huq, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Humanities and of Social Sciences were Special Guests at the program. The program was chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Rubaiyat Chowdhury, Chairman, Department of Textile Engineering and Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, BUBT.
The Keynote Speaker Engr. Mohammad Abdul Latif, General Manager, Sufia Cotton Mills Ltd., outlined the present scenario and the future of the spinning sector in Bangladesh. In his opinion, this sector in the country faces the crisis in local expertise, energy, political stability and global competition. He advised the Textile Engineering students to be more efficient for leading this borderless sector.
