BUBT's Md. Aslam Uddin Presents Research Paper at Spain, Published by Springer Nature

Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) is pleased to announce the exceptional achievement of Md. Aslam Uddin, Assistant Professor, and Acting Chairman of the Department of Marketing. He recently presented a ground breaking research paper at the "International Conference on Marketing and Technologies - ICMarkTech 2022" held in Spain on December 2, 2022.

This remarkable paper, titled "Development of a Conceptual Framework for Hybrid Car Adoption in Bangladesh," has since been published by Springer Nature as a book chapter in "Marketing and Smart Technologies," Chapter 26, pages 357-369.

International Recognition and Indexing:

The significance of this achievement cannot be understated. The book "Marketing and Smart Technologies" has earned indexing in prestigious databases, including SCOPUS, EI Compendex, INSPEC, WTI Frankfurt eG, zbMATH, Japanese Science and Technology Agency (JST), SCImago, and DBLP. Furthermore, all books published in this series are submitted for consideration in the Web of Science, making this research widely accessible to scholars and researchers globally.

A Conceptual Framework for Sustainable Transportation:

Md. Aslam Uddin's paper explores the critical goal of green technology: reducing the greenhouse effect and controlling global warming. The research investigates the factors influencing consumers to adopt hybrid cars, which are environmentally friendlier automobiles gaining popularity worldwide. Hybrid cars are vehicles that utilize at least two or more power sources to propel the vehicle, often combining an internal combustion engine with electric motors.

Theoretical Foundations and Impact:

This study draws upon various theoretical models, prominently the UTAUT2 (Extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology), to develop a conceptual model. It identifies seven independent variables, including performance expectancy, social influence, environmental concern, price value, hedonic motivation, facilitating conditions, and health benefit, along with one dependent variable: behavioral intention to purchase. These variables are examined in the context of the Bangladeshi market, shedding light on consumer profiles and their purchase decisions regarding hybrid cars.

Contributions to Environmental, Marketing, and Economic Perspectives:

The research holds substantial significance from environmental, marketing, and economic perspectives. It provides insights into Bangladeshi consumers' behavior regarding hybrid car purchases, offering valuable data for marketers and policymakers. The findings of this study can inform critical decisions to promote sustainable transportation options and reduce the environmental impact of the automotive industry.

Congratulations from BUBT:

Prof. Dr. Md. Fayyaz Khan, Vice Chancellor of BUBT, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Md. Aslam Uddin for this significant achievement. He praised the research for its potential to drive positive change in the field of sustainable transportation and environmental conservation.

The success of Md. Aslam Uddin's research highlights BUBT's commitment to fostering ground breaking research and innovation. The university takes pride in its faculty members' contributions to advancing knowledge and addressing critical societal issues.
