The IQAC-BUBT recently held a Research Project Proposal Presentation on October 31, 2024, in the Shahid Sujon Mahmud Building’s Meeting Room, highlighting a significant research initiative focused on the early detection of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) through artificial intelligence. This project, led by Nafis Shahriar Munir, Lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), features co-researchers Abdullah Bin Shams, former Lecturer at the Department of EEE, BUBT and Rogers Fellow and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Toronto (St. George), and Rahat Bin Preo, Teaching Assistant in the Department of EEE, BUBT. The presentation showcases a pioneering approach to enhancing CKD detection with an AI-powered mobile application.

Esteemed attendees at the presentation included Prof. Santi Narayan Ghosh, Director of IQAC, BUBT; Abul Lais M. S. Haque, Ph.D., Dean of Engineering and Applied Sciences; Zaved Mannan, Additional Director of IQAC, BUBT; Dr. Md. Shamsul Arefin, Chairman of the Department of EEE; Nafis Shahriar Munir, the principal researcher; and Rahat Bin Preo, Teaching Assistant in the Department of EEE. The presentation underscored the commitment of these leaders to innovative healthcare research.
