Md. Shirazur Rahman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), with more than 11 years of experience in higher education teaching, academic research, and institutional responsibilities. He has been teaching as an Assistant Professor since November 2018, after previously working as a Lecturer and Teaching Assistant in the same department. Mr. Rahman completed his M.A. in English Language Teaching (ELT) and B.A. (Honours) in English from BUBT with good results. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Applied Linguistics at the English Discipline, School of Arts and Humanities, Khulna University. His academic interests include Linguistic Politeness, Pragmatics, Sociolinguistics, English Language Teaching (ELT) & applied linguistics, language assessment, motivation in language learning, and sociolinguistic influences on language use. He has published a number of research articles in recognized peer reviewed academic journals. He has also been actively involved in academic publishing as an Editorial Assistant of the BUBT Journal since 2014. In addition to teaching and research, Mr. Rahman played a significant role in the establishment and operation of the BUBT Language Lab under the HEQEP project funded by the World Bank and UGC, serving as a member of the SPM team and later on as Deputy Sub Project Manager. He has participated in numerous professional trainings and workshops on research methodology, outcome-based education, quality assurance, language lab teaching, and academic ethics.
