The Department of Textile Engineering integrates science, technology, and innovation through a STEM-based curriculum that connects theoretical foundations with hands-on industrial practice. Covering the full textile value chain—from fibers and yarns to fabrics, coloration, apparel production, testing, and sustainability—the program prepares students for real-world manufacturing challenges. Supported by multidisciplinary coursework, advanced laboratories, expert faculty guidance, and industry-linked projects, graduates are well equipped for immediate careers in the textile and RMG sectors or for advanced studies and research at leading institutions worldwide.

Chairman's Message
The Department of Textile Engineering at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), established in 2010 under the Faculty of Engineering & Applied Sciences, is committed to delivering high-quality education aligned with global engineering standards. With a team of sixteen dedicated faculty members and twelve modern laboratories, the department offers comprehensive training across Yarn Manufacturing, Fabric Manufacturing, Wet Processing, and Apparel Manufacturing Technologies.
Following an Outcome Based Education (OBE) curriculum, the department emphasizes practical learning, innovation, leadership, and ethical responsibility to prepare students for the evolving challenges of the textile and RMG industries. Through industry-oriented teaching, advanced laboratories, internships, research, and professional development activities, students gain strong practical exposure and global readiness.
With over 1,150 graduates successfully placed in leading national and international organizations, the department takes pride in its academic excellence and strong alumni network. Under committed leadership, the Department of Textile Engineering continues to nurture skilled, innovative, and socially responsible engineers dedicated to the sustainable growth of Bangladesh’s textile sector and beyond.
