Independence and National Day 2026

Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) celebrated the Independence and National Day 2026 with due dignity and in a festive atmosphere. To mark the occasion, a special discussion meeting and Doa Mahfil were organized at the university’s International Conference Center.

The Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker of the program was the eminent researcher, poet, litterateur, and Editor of Daily Jugantor, Abdul Hye Sikder. In his speech, he highlighted the spirit of the Great Liberation War and the significance of independence to the new generation of students. He stated, "Nurturing the new generation through free thinking and creativity is the best way to keep the spirit of the Liberation War alive."

Mr. A F M Sarwar Kamal, honorable member of the BUBT Trust, was present as the Special Guest. The discussion session was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of BUBT, Professor Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali. In his concluding remarks, he said, "Our goal is not only to produce skilled graduates but also to develop patriotic citizens. On this Independence Day, let our pledge be to contribute our best from our respective positions to build a modern and Smart Bangladesh."

The program commenced with the rendition of the National Anthem, under the overall supervision of Professor Dr. Syed Masud Husain, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences and Convener of the Celebration Committee. The Registrar of the university, Dr. Md. Harun-or-Rashid, delivered the welcome address. Following the discussion, a special honorary crest was presented to the Chief Guest on behalf of the university.

At the final stage of the program, a special prayer (Doa and Munajat) was offered, seeking eternal peace for the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Liberation War and praying for the prosperity of the nation. Deans of various faculties, heads of departments, faculty members, students, and officials of the university were present at the event.
