Orientation Program (Summer 2026 Semester)

The orientation program for the newly enrolled students of the summer 2026 semester was held on Thursday, at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). The program, divided into
three sessions, started at 10:00 AM and concluded at 6:00 PM. Professor Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossen, Member of the University Grants Commission (UGC), was present as the Chief Guest. Addressing the freshers, he said, Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in your lives. A university is not just a place to earn a degree; it is the cradle for character building, patriotism, and nurturing human values. I hope you will not limit yourselves to textbooks but engage in research and innovation. Your role will be the most important in transforming Bangladesh into a knowledge-based society.

Professor Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of BUBT, presided over the ceremony. Welcoming the newcomers, he said, BUBT is always committed to building world-class citizens by combining academic excellence with technology and innovation. He further added, The new students have joined a university that does not only show dreams but also creates the path to fulfill those dreams. In the first session of the orientation, Professor Mian Lutfar Rahman, Honorable Member of the BUBT Trust, spoke as a Special Guest. Following him, speeches were delivered by the Proctor of the university, Professor Dr. Syed Masud Husain, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, and Professor Dr. K Ahmed Alam, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. New and alumni students also spoke during this session. 

In the second session, Professor Md. Abu Saleh, Vice Chairman of the BUBT Trust, and Mr. AFM Sarwar Kamal, Member of the BUBT Trust, were present as Special Guests. During this time, Dr. Md. Harun-Or-Rashid, Registrar, Dr. Muhammad Aminur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science & AI, and Professor Dr. Munshi Mahbubur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, also delivered their speeches.  In the third and closing session at 4:30 PM, the university's newly established Faculty of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence was officially inaugurated, and the achievement of being ranked in the SCIMAGO Ranking 2026 was celebrated. Afterwards, a cultural program was performed for the newcomers, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks.
