Career Guidance

A career guidance and counseling program develops an individual's competencies in self-knowledge, educational and occupational exploration, and career planning. There are a number of factors that influence students’ career development, including their interests, abilities, values, personality, background, and, circumstances etc. Career Counseling is a process that will help students to know and understand themselves and the world of work in order to make career, educational, and life decisions.

Career guidance provides a substantial understanding about the career that a student needs help in choosing the right career. This is very helpful because a student may not have an overall knowledge of careers and the sort of expectation that is set by employers on the individuals who are selecting for that career. It may be added that a student can avoid spending unnecessary time, effort and money in choosing those careers which she/he is not interested in or may be very difficult to pursue in her/his life.

Students of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) have an opportunity to get career guidance at Career Guidance Office to shape their dreams through choosing the right career.

• Bangladesh, as a developing nation, experiences one of the most unemployed countries in the world. Getting a suitable job or building right career in the expected way is now–a-days has become very difficult due to the number one quandary the unemployment problem. Emphasize has been given on building skilled human resources by undertaking job oriented academic programs, arranging internship, job placement, workshop and facilitating opportunities to study abroad for higher education. Because, without imparting qualitative education and proper counseling a fresh graduate may lose the right way to approach in getting a better livelihood and build healthier career.
