Mission

Department of English at BUBT inspires and encourages quality learning and teaching environment for the betterment of students’ skills and abilities, which are not limited to but inclusive of the following:

• Developing students’ communication skills, interactive ability and proficiency in the use of English for reading, writing, listening and speaking in any context – academic, professional or creative.
• Ensuring efficiency in understanding and interpreting literary texts and traditions from various points of views and literary theoretical standpoints and thus generate ideas and even own perspective on ethics, identity, politics, history, economics, aesthetics, and many other subjects.
• Improving students’ ability to interpret analytical, descriptive, argumentative, critical and imaginative thinking and relate them to social, cultural and historical contexts.
• Helping students achieve technological knowledge and a remarkable expressiveness, which would help them take preparations for any job related to their field of study.
• Advancing students’ contribution to the society as well as the nation through developed skills, innovation and research.

 Vision

Our vision is to create an abode of knowledge, innovation, creativity and thought. Being in the dynamic learning and research-informed environment, the students would gradually be developed academically, professionally and spiritually. The students will be trained to cope with the demands of the age and contribute to the progress of the nation. They will be developed as leaders to be valuable parts of the history of development and advancement.
