Department of English, BUBT, organized a freshers’ reception program to receive the newly admitted students of Intake 57 of B.A. (Hons.) in English program on May 16, 2023, at the International Conference Hall, BUBT. Professor Mian Lutfar Rahman, Student Advisor, BUBT, Proctor, Wing Commander (Retd.) Md. Momenul Islam, Professor Syed Anwarul Huq, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Mohammad Shawkat Ali, Chairman, Department of English, and the faculty members of English Department were present at the event.

The program started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. Professor Huq delivered the welcome note for the freshers. Professor Mian Lutfar Rahman delivered a motivational speech addressing the freshers. The Proctor, in his speech, provided guidelines for manners and behaviour in the campus. Then the Controller of the Examinations talked about the rules and regulations for examinations.  After that, the teachers of the department introduced themselves. Rehnuma Bindu, representing the most senior intake, shared with the freshers her experiences in different aspects of the department. Then Arin Aradhya Haque shared his feelings and experiences as a new student in the department. Afterwards, the department received the new students formally and cordially with Flowers. Finally, the chairman of the department in his closing remarks, thanked all the members of the organizing committee, performers, volunteers, and faculty members for making the program a success.

After the formal session, the students of the department arranged a cultural program to entertain the newcomers. The formal part of the program was conducted by Fariha Taskin, Lecturer in English and Jannatul Mawa, Lecturer in English, and the cultural part was conducted by Mr. Ashraful Alam Rony, Lecturer in English.
