BUBT Economics Club has successfully organized a seminar titled – “Consumer Preference or Supplier Induced Demand for Cesarean Section Delivery in Bangladesh” on 11/09/2023, Monday at 3 pm in the International Conference Hall, BUBT.
The session started with the welcome speech by Mr. Sirajul Islam, Assistant Professor and Chairman, Department of Economics. Professor M. Mahmud khan, PhD. Head, Department of Health Policy and Management, University of Georgia, Athens and John A. Drew Professor, Healthcare Administration delivered the key Notes. Professor M. Mahmud Khan highlighted the major causes of adopting Cesarean sections delivery in Bangladesh and the adverse effect of this method as well based on his study. In conclusion Professor Mahmud prescribed some policy suggestions which can shed some light in the mother and children health care sector in Bangladesh.
Professor Dr. Muhammed Fayyaz Khan, honorable Vice Chancellor, BUBT was the chair of the session. Among other guests Professor Md. Abu Saleh, Member, BUBT Trustee and Academic Adviser, Lieutenant General Dr. A K M Zafrullah Siddiq (Retd.), Member, BUBT Trustee, Professor Santi Narayan Ghosh, Director, IQAC and Deans of different Faculties, faculty members and students of Economics, BUBT, were present.
