Department of English arranged a farewell ceremony for Intake 48 of B.A. (Hons.) in English program on August 30, 2023, at the International Conference Hall, BUBT. Prof. Dr. Ali Noor, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university, graced the occasion with his kind presence. In his speech, he bade farewell to the students of Intake 48 and wished them a bright future ahead. Professor Syed Anwarul Huq, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, also delivered his valuable speech congratulating the departing students for successfully completing their program. Md. Abdullah Al Azad, Assistant Professor & Assistant Proctor of the university, gave his thoughtful messages to the students. Md. Shawkat Ali, Chairman of the department, also congratulated the outgoing students and gave his vote of thanks to the administrative staff, faculty members of the department, and the volunteers who were associated with the program.

Elisa Sarkar of Intake 49 recalled her memories and experiences with the outgoing students. Roksat Afrin, one of the students of the leaving intake, shared her feelings on the occasion as well. After the speeches, every departing student was presented with a crest on behalf of the students of Intake 49. The students also celebrated the occasion with a delicious cake.

Afterwards, a cultural program was held where three faculty members, along with the enthusiastic students of the department, participated in recitations, story-telling, songs, and dance performances. The whole program was organized under the coordination of Ms. Jannatul Ferdoush, Assistant Professor of English. The formal part of the program was conducted by Mr. Ashraful Alam Rony, Lecturer in English and Syeeda Haque Shimu, Lecturer in English and the cultural part by Jannatul Mawa, Lecturer in English. The faculty members and students of the department enjoyed the event with great pleasure.
