The Grand Finale of BUBT Sports Week and Deans’ Cup Cricket Tournament 2025 was held on October 18, 2025, at the BUBT Sports Complex amid great excitement, sportsmanship, and vibrant participation from students, faculty members, officers and staff.
The day began with the Women’s Final Match at 9:00 AM, where the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences defeated the Faculty of Arts and Humanities to secure the championship title.
At 11:00 AM, the Faculty & Staff Final took place between the Faculty of Law and the Staff Team, in which the Staff Team clinched victory after a spirited match.
The most anticipated Men’s Deans’ Cup Final kicked off at 2:00 PM between the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and the Department of English. The Department of CSE emerged as the champion after an exciting and competitive encounter.
Following the thrilling matches, a prize-giving ceremony was held to celebrate the champions and recognize the efforts of all participants.
The ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of BUBT, as the Chief Guest. In his inspiring speech, Prof. Dr. Ali congratulated all the winners and participants, saying, “Sports are an integral part of university life. They not only build physical strength but also teach teamwork, discipline, and leadership.”
Mr. Md. Shihab Rizwan, Member of the BUBT Trust and Advisor of the BUBT Trust Career Guidance and Sports Advisory Committee, attended as the Special Guest. He praised the organizers and participants, noting, “The level of dedication and energy shown by our students and faculty members throughout this Sports Week is truly commendable. Events like these help create unity, friendship, and a healthy competitive spirit within the BUBT family.”
Among other distinguished guests, Prof. Mian Lutfar Rahman, Member of the BUBT Trust and Dr. Md. Harun-or-Rashid, Registrar of BUBT was also present.

Deans, Chairmen, faculty members, students, and players from various faculties attended the event, making it a colorful and memorable conclusion to the weeklong sports celebration.
The entire program was successfully organized and managed by the BUBT Sports Club, which ensured smooth operations throughout the Sports Week and the Deans’ Cup Tournament.
