History of the Department

Bangladesh University of Business & Technology (BUBT) was established under the Private University Act in the year 2003 with the approval of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh. Department of Marketing is one of the prominent departments under the Faculty of Business at BUBT. Mr. Monirul Hasan Masum, Assistant Professor, was the Chairman of the Department from September 1, 2008 to March 31, 2012. Afterwards, Mr. Maniruzzaman, Assistant Professor, was Chairman of the department from April 1, 2012 to May 31, 2015. Mr. Md. Aslam Uddin, Assistant Professor, is the present Chairman of the Department. There are 11 faculty members in the department now and two of them are on leave for higher studies in the USA and Australia. The faculty members of this department are holding important positions in the university administration such as the Assistant Proctor. The faculty members of this department are very cordial and helpful to the students. Students get useful facilities from the department like: counseling, job placement, internship placement, internship guidance, presentation tips, report preparation guidance, etc. The students of the department organize various events from time to time with the help of the enthusiastic faculty members of the department like: different Training Facilities for the students, AD carnival, Seminar, Workshop, etc. Many students who have completed their major in marketing at BUBT are now working in renowned organizations successfully. They are working in various sectors efficiently, earning grad reputation for themselves as well as the department.
