Faculty of Business of BUBT Holds Freshers’ Reception
The Faculty of Business of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) arranged a Freshers’ Reception program on Monday, March 05, 2018, at its Permanent Campus, Rupnagar, Mirpur, Dhaka to welcome the freshers’ of the BBA 45th intake as well as Bachelor of Arts in Economics 29th intake of the Spring Semester, 2018.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Md. Abu Saleh was the Chief Guest while Prof. Md. Enayet Hossain Miah, Treasurer, BUBT, Prof. Mian Lutfar Rahman, Proctor, BUBT and Prof. Santi Narayan Ghosh, Director, IQAC were Special Guests at the program. The program was chaired by Professor Dr. Syed Masud Husain, Dean, Faculty of Business, BUBT.
Deans of various Faculties, Chairmen and faculty members of different departments and the students of the Faculty of Business attended the Program. The Program came to an end with a cultural session.
A workshop on ‘Present Scenario, Future Prospects and Challenges of Spinning Sector in Bangladesh’ was held at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) Permanent Campus, Mirpur, Dhaka on Wednesday, March 07, 2018. The Department of Textile Engineering of BUBT organized the Workshop.
Engr. Mohammad Abdul Latif, General Manager, Sufia Cotton Mills Ltd. (Noman Group) presented the Key Note Paper in the Workshop. Prof. Mian Lutfar Rahman, Proctor, BUBT and Prof. Syed Anwarul Huq, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Humanities and of Social Sciences were Special Guests at the program. The program was chaired by Professor Dr. Mohammed Rubaiyat Chowdhury, Chairman, Department of Textile Engineering and Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, BUBT.
The Keynote Speaker Engr. Mohammad Abdul Latif, General Manager, Sufia Cotton Mills Ltd., outlined the present scenario and the future of the spinning sector in Bangladesh. In his opinion, this sector in the country faces the crisis in local expertise, energy, political stability and global competition. He advised the Textile Engineering students to be more efficient for leading this borderless sector.

The 3rd Convocation of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) was held at International Convention City (ICCB) on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. His Excellency Mr. Md. Abdul Hamid, Hon’ble President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh and Chancellor of BUBT, presided over the Convocation Ceremony and conferred the degrees upon the graduating students.Former Chairman of the UGC and Emeritus Professor of the University of Dhaka Dr. A.K. Azad Chowdhury was present as the Convocation Speaker. Professor Abdul Mannan, Hon’ble Chairman (State Minister Status), University Grants Commission of Bangladesh was present at the Ceremony as the Special Guest. Mr. A F M Sarwar Kamal, Chairman, BUBT Trust delivered his speech.Professor Md. Abu Saleh, Vice Chancellor delivered the Welcome Speech. Six thousand and three hundred thirty five graduating students were awarded graduation and post graduation degrees and four graduating students were awarded gold medals for their outstanding academic achievements.
A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) was made on January 02, 2018 between Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), Mirpur-2, Dhaka-1216, Bangladesh as the First Party and The Bangladesh Rating Agency Limited (BDRAL) 47 Karwan Bazar, Latif Tower (12th Floor), Dhaka-1215, Bangladesh as the Second Party. The objectives of the MOU were Taking note of the commitment of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) and The Bangladesh Rating Agency Limited for accelerating academic cooperation, skill development and career opportunities through developing human resources in Bangladesh through imparting skills in a variety of professional fields, including internship placement, job placement and organizing different skills development initiatives i.e. workshop, seminar etc.

Registrar (Public Relations), Mr. Mian Mohammad Mehedi Hasan, BUBT were present as part of BUBT. Department of Textile Engineering of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) organized a seminar on “Prospects of Denim Sector in Bangladesh” on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the Hall Room of the University Permanent Campus, Rupnagar, Mirpur, Dhaka. Mr. A F M Sarwar Kamal, Chairman, BUBT Trust was the Chief Guest while Prof. Md. Abu Saleh, Vice Chancellor, BUBT, presided over the Seminar. The Keynote Speaker was Mr. Mohammad Jamal Abdun Naser, Director, Shasha Denims Ltd. Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro Vice Chancellor, BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT), Prof. Md. Enayet Hossain Miah Treasurer, BUBT and Prof. Mian Lutfar Rahman, Proctor, BUBT were present as Special Guests. The Program was coordinated by Dr. Mohammed Rubaiyat Chowdhury, Professor and Chairman, Department of Textile Engineering, BUBT and Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, BUBT.
December 30, 2017: The Victory Day-2017 was observed at Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT). Discussion and cultural function was arranged on the occasion on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Hall Room of the University Permanent Campus, Rupnagar, Mirpur, Dhaka. The Chief Guest was Freedom Fighter Major General (Retired) Jamil D. Ahsan, Bir Protik, psc, while Mr. A F M Sarwar Kamal, Chairman of BUBT Trust, Prof. Mian Lutfar Rahman, Proctor of BUBT and Chief Coordinator of the BUBT Extra Curricular Activities and Prof. Syed Anwarul Huq, Dean, Faculty of Arts & Humanities attended as Special Guests. Treasurer of BUBT Professor Md. Enayet Hossain Miah presided over the Program.
Freedom Fighter Major General (Retired) Jamil D. Ahsan, Bir Protik Delivered the Key Note Presentation on Liberation War and elaborate the steps of the War showing visual documents. He said, “Young generation should see the Liberation War documents for inspiration, otherwise they cannot hold the National Flag tightly to move the country forward.” He also said, “Muktibahini has the great contribution to the Liberation War and the Victory in 9 month fight was possible only for the sacrifice of the freedom fighters.” Mr. A F M Sarwar Kamal, Chairman of BUBT Trust, described the Victory Days Details and said that the War was against discrimination to East Bengal by West Pakistan, Mr Kamal said, “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Father of the Nation, unified the nation for participating in the freedom fight against the Pakistani rulers and exploiters. Bangabandhu was the leader as a great patriot and a strong rebel voice against injustice.”
